Students of Hope Hoffman's after-school theater/movement class performed a selection from Carl Sandburg's "Rootabaga Stories." Working with the text of Sandburg's charming and imaginative children's stories, students created a performance featuring movement, live music on fiddle, John McCain's magical sounds from his upright bass, and lots of laughter!

Carl Sandburg was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry in 1951, and his text provided a wonderful springboard for experimental and humorous theater.
