Hope Hoffman's Upcoming Classes

Creative Movement, Modern Dance, Ballet and Improvisation

Ages 8-adult

Offering a fun and thoughtful approach guides students to develop healthy posture, flexibility and strength, while keeping the imagination active and enjoying the variety of individuals' movement styles.

Sessions are usually 4 to 6 weeks, once or twice per week.

We are in the process of making a schedule for this class. When the list of interested people grows long enough, we will contact you and make plans to run the class.

MAKING DANCES

We'll warm up our bodies and minds with stretching, exercises and group work, then build movement guided by Hope's expertise and encouragement and the student's interests and imaginations. Hope has been teaching since 1998, and studied and performed modern dance, ballet and improvisation since 1980, most recently choreographing and performing with New Dance Studio in Portland.

Ages: Teen-Adult

MODERN DANCE IMPROVISATION

Combining technique and imagination, we'll explore our own voice in solo and group movement. Hope has been teaching since 1998, and studied and performed modern dance, ballet and improvisation since 1980, most recently choreographing and performing with New Dance Studio in Portland.

Ages: 12-Adult

DANCE MOVEMENT FOR TEENS

Engaging for those new to dance and for experienced movers. The class progresses from familiar pedestrian movements to guided improvisations, movement theater games, and creating choreography. Hoffman will also teach short pieces of her choreography, known for its accessibility and originality, and provide live fiddle music. This class is based on sessions taught at Freeport High School.
