~ SOLO VIOLIN/FIDDLE/VIOLA ~
~ ACCOMPANIMENT FOR SINGERS AND BANDS ~

Waltzes and slow tunes, as well as lively Celtic, Old-time/Southern, French Canadian, and Swedish fiddle tunes for all types of events.
I sing a cappella and also accompany myself on guitar.
My fiddle has a pleasant, clear tone, so it can fit into a calm atmosphere; or if the occasion calls for it, the fiddle can carry rollicking dance tunes over a long distance. The viola has a lovely tone and powerful projection.
I'm sensitive and experienced at playing music for theater productions, and can find the right sorts of tunes for a particular time and place.
I can sight-read sheet music and also learn by ear, as well as improvising.
I've performed and recorded tracks with singers and bands backing up their vocals, and enjoy doing that very much.
My most recent recording project was with the Mutineers for their new album, "Coal Creek."
The Mutineers are having their CD release concert Thursday, October 9 at One Longfellow Square in Portland at 8 p.m.. Hope will be a guest fiddler at the concert. "Coal Creek" features traditional and original folk, blues and old-time country songs with unique and soulful arrangements. Tickets are $7, advance purchase online and at (207) 761-1757.
